General Kim Jong II and Marshal Kim Jong Un
Rebirth of President Kim Il Sung
AP of the United States commented on the newly emerged leader of north Korea that he was amazingly identical with President Kim Il Sung, in features, smile, confident gait and even his way of using hands, giving an impression as if the latter, founder of north Korea, was resurrected.
A south Korean expert on north Korean affairs wondered that seeing young supreme leader smile reminded him of the President at the age of 33 after having defeated the Japanese imperialism.
Everyone was unanimous in saying that he was the same as President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il of the DPRK National Defence Commission. They were much impressed by the new north Korean leader in the farewell ceremony of the late Kim Jong Il last December, who walked along with the hearse, fully exposed to snow, wearing neither fur cap nor gloves.
He is favourably commented by the international community as being modest and unassuming, open-hearted and kind, meticulous and affectionate, dignified and emotional, magnanimous and generous. The world finds in the image of Kim Jong Un his predecessors, President Kim Il Sung, the greatest of great persons in the 20th century, and NDC Chairman Kim Jong Il, most outstanding statesman in the 21st century.
Kim Jong Un Era Has Opened
Young Korean leader’s inspection of the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People’s Army on New Year’s day this year dealt a heavy blow to the imperialists, vociferously insisting on “changes” and “reforms” in Korea, and confirmed his unshakable will to carry out the Songun ideology and cause pursued by Kim Jong Il without slightest deflection.
Kim Jong Un is carrying forward the political idea his predecessors maintained, that is, the doctrine of “The people are my God.” To give the first place to people’s interests and provide them with conveniences absolutely and as the highest priority in every work–this is his outlook on people and fundamental principle of work. From the outset of the year he inspected different construction projects, including the Pyongyang Folk Park, apartment houses in Mansudae area, People’s Theatre, Mansugyo Meat and Fish Shop and Rungna People’s Pleasure Ground. The world community saw the noble image of a great leader entrusted with the destiny and future of his people.
“Single-hearted unity and invincible military might plus the industrial revolution in the new century is just the thriving socialist country,” is the proposition he put forward in leading the general offensive of the Korean people to materialize Kim Jong Il’s gigantic plan of building a thriving nation. As he is well versed in orientations and tendencies of present-day science and technology and economic development as well as the art and literature and all other realms of social life, he is highly commented as an ideal statesman of modern times.
He is attracting special attention of the world as a young supreme commander with outstanding ability.
Endowed with excellent military wisdom and wonderful art of command, unrivalled pluck and courage, the KPA supreme commander demonstrates his mastery of modern warfare and military science and technology, profound knowledge of all the services and arms and military hardware, as good as military experts. Under his command, Korea is further consolidating its military power.
It is not fortuitous, therefore, that the international community comments that a young leader possessed of competence and capability for a modern statesman and military commander made his public appearance, and Kim Jong Un era was ushered in.

Forward towards the final victory!
The speech Kim Jong Un delivered at the military parade held in celebration of the centenary of the birth of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung in Pyongyang on April 15 made a great impact on the world.
“The military and technological edge is no longer the monopoly of imperialists, and the era is gone forever when the enemy would threaten us with atomic bombs.” “The permanent strategy of our revolution and its final victory lie in going straight along the road of independence, the road of Songun, the road of socialism, indicated by President Kim Il Sung and General Kim Jong Il.”
“Peace is very valuable for our Party and the government of the DPRK that are making efforts to attain the general goal of building a thriving nation and improving the people’s living standards. But, more valuable for us are the nation’s dignity and the country’s independence.”
“Our cause is just, and the strength of Korea fostered by truth is inexhaustible.”
“Forward towards the final victory!”
More than 12 000 newspapers, news agencies and other world media highlighted his first vocal speech, and hundreds of millions of people looked and listened to it. The New York Times commented that the Korean supreme leader’s speech was quite an exceptional one which showed the ability of the new leadership full of vigour. The scenes of the Korean service personnel and people giving cheers to their leader’s appeal were in the limelight of the world TV broadcasts, such as Qatar’s Al-Jazeera cable news television network, the BBC, ABC of Australia, and NHK of Japan.
The world media stressed that the speech made by Kim Jong Un at the military parade is the political programme of the DPRK’s new leadership and a declaration signalling its grand start, and showed their expectations of the promising future of Korea under the young leader.
