Invitation to meet Malaysian Manufacturers and Exporters in conjunction with

MIHAS 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, 5-6 April, 2011

The Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), an export promotion agency of the Government of Malaysia, will be organising The 8th Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2011). The International halal trade exhibition will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 6-9 April, 2011.

In conjunction with MIHAS 2011, MATRADE would like to invite your company to meet Malaysian manufacturers and exporters in 2 days one to one business meeting at MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) from 5-6 April, 2011 and as MATRADE special guest for the Opening Ceremony of MIHAS 2011. MIHAS 2011 will be an effective venue for you to source Malaysia's wide range of high quality halal products and services.

The targeted sectors are as follows:

Food and Beverage

Gift, Textiles, Apparels, Accessories, Jewelleries and Household

Information and Communications Technology

Cosmetics, Herbal, Phamarceutical and Medical disposable

Banking and Education Services

Foreign buyers attending the Business Meetings are entitled to complimentary accommodation (up to maximum of 5 days 4 nights stay from 4-8 April, 2011) and airport transfers. Buyers are advised to arrive in Kuala Lumpur by 4 April 2011. However, should you intend to stay longer for follow-ups in meetings or visits, you will need to pay for the additional costs incurred.

Interested companies should contact our office and submit the Reply Form with clear indication on the products / services of interest before 28 February 2011. In matching your company with the correct Malaysian suppliers, please use the list of product codes. We can also assist your company in meeting with other relevant Malaysian companies that you may have already identified. Buyers are encouraged to follow up their meetings with Malaysian companies by conducting factory visits after the business meeting session.

MATRADE Hong Kong is known as The Trade Section of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Hong Kong S.A.R.. The area of coverage are Hong Kong S.A.R. and Macao S.A.R.. Total trade in 2010 breached the RM1 trillion mark to register a value of RM1.169 trillion, almost reaching the pre-crisis level of RM1 .183 trillion registered in 2008. Exports expanded by 15.6% to RM639.43 billion while imports grew by 21.7% to RM529.19 billion with a trade surplus of RM110.23 billion.

MSE is an annual road show targeted to Middle Eastern lucrative opportunities.

Summary of MIHAS 2011

A total of 35,386 visitors from 59 countries visited MIHAS 2010.

Major exhibiting countries were : Singapore, Iran, China, Australia, Indonesia

Inward Buying Mission recorded 510 buyers of 49 companies from 53 countries. MATRADE Hong Kong recruited 11 buyers for MIHAS 2010.

Summary of INTRADE 2010

- INTRADE 2010 ended on 11th November 2010, with a total of 8,666 visitors from 77 countries, compared to 6,956 visitors from 49 countries in 2009. Top visiting countries were from China, Japan, UAE, Singapore and India.

- MATRADE Hong Kong recruited 14 buyers for INTRADE 2010.

Malaysia Trade Centre, Hong Kong S.A.R. (MTC)

Helping out Malaysia Via Malaysia Trade Centre (MTC HK):

MTCHK is a showroom of Malaysian produce and a venue to get latest activities involving traders and entrepreneurs from Malaysia.

Besides showcasing of Malaysian products and services, MTCHK also provides secretarial services to any Malaysians that are visiting the Malaysia Trade Centre.

The secretarial services offered include:

i.To assist in getting information required by the visitor;

ii.To assist in setting up appointments with the relevant organization / company / individual as determined by the visitor;

iii.To assist in making reservation;

iv.To assist in arranging the logistical matters (flight checking / renting a car / getting a taxi) as determined by the visitor;

v.To assist in providing telephone number / fax number / address of an organization / company / individual as determined by the visitor.

vi.To assist in making phone calls (cost incurred for international calls will be borne by the visitor him/himself);

vii.To assist in faxing the documents (cost incurred will be borne by the visitor him/himself)

viii.To assist in making photocopy of a document (cost incurred will be borne by the visitor him/himself)

ix.To assist with interpreter services when the need arises.

More than 60 Malaysian companies' high-end and unique-Malaysian products are currently being displayed at the MTCHK. MTCHK also offered a total of 1,600 reference materials, including magazines, directories, annual reports, market reports, CD-ROMs covering Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau and the Mainland China, which are made available for trade visitors' reference.

Furthermore, local or International buyers can make use the MTCHK, especially when conducting any meetings with Malaysian companies. The Centre is equipped with an office room and a meeting room, which can accommodate meetings for up to eight people. This will be the best place in conducting such meetings as the relevant reading materials, publications, statistics as well as the venue to view the products and services are available for the convenience of the visitors.

Other facilities that are available at the MTCHK are for example making local all, local fax, photocopying and workstation (computer, broadband Internet access and printer). MATRADE's staff will also be available to assist users at all times.
