He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chief of the General Staff of the KPA, Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and vice-chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, KPA General Kim Jong Gak, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and first vice-director of the KPA General Political Bureau, and others.
Conducted by the commanding officers of the division, he went round the room for education in the revolutionary history and the room dedicated to history of the division.
Looking at the data on the revolutionary history showing the immortal leadership exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il recorded in the course of the division’s development, he recalled with deep emotion the glorious path traversed by the unit under their guidance.
Looking round the operations study room, e-library, training apparatuses and others, he learned about training and preparations for combat readiness.
He highly praised the officers and men of the division for putting spurs to training and rounding off combat preparations without slackening high alert even a moment.
That day he went round a Three-Revolution Red Flag subunit directly under the division, taking care of the living of soldiers as their father would do.
Looking round the education room, he said it is good that the subunit has fully provided itself with various materials for education and is conducting political and ideological education to suit the features of soldiers.
Pleased to hear how the heating facilities and solar heat equipment associated with the loving care of leader Kim Jong Il are being used in the bedroom and bathroom, he personally took the temperature of the room and water.
He dropped in at the mess hall and the soya bean storehouse, where he stressed the need to provide soldiers with rich diet.
He said to his accompanying commanding officers that officers and men are revolutionary comrades-in-arms who will fight together in the same trench, underscoring the need to keep pushing ahead with the work to establish the fine traits of unity between officers and men and unity between superiors and inferiors.
Expressing his expectation and belief that the service personnel of the division would perform distinguished military services at the honourable post of national defence, he had a photo taken with them.
